For those not requiring the extreme chemical resistance of The Ultimate Siphon™ we offer the same 1/2" Type 316 stainless steel racking cane with 5' of standard PVC tubing. While PVC tubing has some chemical resistance, it is best used only with low-proof product (20%abv and lower). For higher alcohol content it is best to use The Ultimate Siphon™ in order to avoid leaching from the PVC tubing. PVC tubing is easily distinguished from the much more resistant silicone tubing by being clear (silicone tubing is cream colored).
The large diameter of our stainless steel siphon offers extremely fast transferring speed while also being virtually indestructable.
Made of Type 316 Stainless Steel and our pharmaceutical grade PVC tubing, this is likely the last siphon you will ever need. Includes an anti-sediment tip to reduce carry over of sediment.
Do not be fooled by companies using clear tubing on their siphon and claiming high chemical resistance. While it is much lower in cost, PVC tubing has a poor resistance rating to ethanol and can leach plasticizers into the spirit. The Ultimate Siphon™ uses pharmaceutical grade silicone tubing with an excellent resistance rating to ethanol, combined with a Type 316 stainless steel racking cane for the highest resistance of any stainless steel siphon.
